To be the first one in the list is a real accolade. I think this one is going to be hard to top so it will most likely stay here for quite a while. Please read © COPYRIGHT notice below.
#LATE NEWS - Read Update Below - as of, 30 September 2007.
#1. Run by: BULL FROGS in an acid pond.
This site sprouks to it's members "come and make money FREE!". They say, they will help you and give you guidance about the easiest ways to make money and "it won't cost you a cent". Well, I will give them one thing, they convinced me. They promote a list of sites that offer "Free Money" as they put it, this list is created by the owner and a "Free Money" site can only get listed on there if it offers "free money" and the owner likes it. Well, I have no qualms about earning free money, but how "much is it going to cost me to make it and is it ethical and more importantly, is it legal?"
Taking on the role of an Investigative Reporter, I signed up, great, all looked pretty straight forward, the first thing you find at the top of their user menu is the "Money List". This is all the free money sites they list. You place your code in each section as you sign up for each "free money" company, so then, any people you invite in, they enter their code in and this ensures that they are signed up under you, if they aren't already a member of the free money site yet.
I even tried to send the owner an email asking them what type of script was used to run it. I always knew it was a pyramid/matrix script for building downlines. I offered to add their name to half my new list I was going to create and they could add their name to the other half. Of course I got no response to that, just like I expected, they were on to me, I think.
When you are on top of the heap it's really easy to spread the words, "you can do it too", but we have seen it time and time again, pyramids and matrix's eventually end up in colapse for one reason, the people at the bottom just don't have the foundation to keep it stable. Why do you think reputable companies like Paypal will not allow business or organisations in, that they consider a pyramid or matrix building sceme. It's only a matter of time before Paypal gets wind of this one and closes the door on them too. This site runs illegal contests with prizemoney of .50 cents or sometimes even a $1 as a sweetener to help motivate their members and pays it straight into the members paypal account.
I am sure they believe they are above the state laws and federal regulations, covering, registering, posting bonds, IRS Reporting Forms, Game Rules, Prize Distribution & all other administration legalities involved in running contests.
Another little scam they have going, involves getting the members who wish to play, go online for a regular, weekly "Click Contest", where they participate in another little competition, with their members to see who gets the most clicks. These are done on external PTC (Paid to Click) sites where advertisers pay good hard earned money to promote their business's and all these people are interested in doing is earning the most clicks to beat their fellow members and in the process score a few cents from these external sites that pay for each of the clickthroughs. One of these sites we found, run a regular, no fixed time, twice a week "Click Contest". The ads are NOT read they are only clicked as fast as they can so they can beat the other members participating online. So the win is twofold, a few cents made from the external PTC site of the night, where they scam the advertisers out of their advertising budgets and then they retreat back to their site and hand out big accolades to the winners and place getters from all the other Bull Frogs and then they sit around and discuss with each other, how much fun it was and how they can't wait to do it again.
I am sure if the advertisers on these external PTC sites were alerted to the scam these people regularly pull. They would certainly be thinking twice about where they place their advertising budgets.
These people really believe they are doing nothing wrong. I wonder if it will take the law knocking on their front door before they wake up. The top 5 bull frogs, just keep motivating the rest of the members to keep doing it. I really feel for the inocent ones that are easily lead and can't think for themselves.
But do you think this site cares, not on your nelly. They just keep feeding out the bull and the fat cats and bull frogs get fatter and fatter from their members hard work. They even have the ordacity to tell their members don't sign up into anything until your sponsor has signed up before you. How is that for an obvious scam! They justify it to the members, as helping each other.
What they don't tell you is, it is going to cost you to earn it and cost you alot of your time and alot of your so-called free resources like the internet connection, your telephone, your electricity, batteries if you run wireless component like mouse and keyboard, printer ink, paper and another cost that can't be left out advertising, not forgetting to mention the wear and tear on your computer and furniture you use while accessing the internet.
They have a big scam currently running where, they are vigourously promoting another "Free Money" site called Yuwie (stay tuned for feeback on this great people meeting, site). This site pays it's members to use the site. The owner scored a first month payout of over $37, so they boast and I do believe them as I know for a fact they have all these other members sitting in line under them doing all the work, sitting at their computer for hours adding blogs, reading blogs, entering comments, reading comments, so they and their not so far downline mates collect the fat payouts. If you can call that fat! But I suppose if you haven't had to do too much for it! ... NOT ON GUYS!
As an example of what I earnt for my 10+ hours site time on the new site. I earnt a whole .06 cents. It cost me whole lot more than that to make it. The bull frog accused me of spamming the site to earn my .06 cents. I have to admit I didn't read the sites, Terms of Service (who does?) So I stopped that pretty quick and then thought oh well there is still 2 weeks to go, I will visit a few friends sites, write some comments, enter some blogs, start a club. As I said, 10+ hours site time all for .06 whole cents.
It's all about clever marketing and promotion with lots of brainwashing involved. This Bull Frogs site members actually believe that they too are going to get to the top of the heap one day, but at what expense? All of those people at the bottom, that will waste hours of work and then chuck it in, because it will finally hit them that it's costing them more to earn it. The bull frogs site, even uses a clever technique and blatantly tells it's members, most people will never make it, in the mean time they keep rubbing their hands together as another dollar is made off someone elses back.
The real sad thing about this is, some and I do only mean some of the members lower down in the pyramid are starting to get some payments of the odd $100 or $200. This cements the thought they are going to be earning $1000 or $2000 a month before they know it. Just a few of the members are currently doing this out of over a 20,000+ membership base.
Well you have been warned guys, watch this one. Oh, try saying something that the owner doesn't like, you get banned real quick or the foul mouthed bull frog will spit some pretty ugly venon at you. I am sure they are based in one of those dictator countries where freedom of speech is not allowed.
We would love to hear from Ex-Members of this site. We are sure there are lots of you out there that have seen the light. Help confirm what this deviout site does. It will be published here.
#UPDATE - 11 September 2007: It just so happens that the PTC site with the two nights a week "Click Contest" happens to be a member of this Bull Frog site. "Why am I not surprised by that?"
The site is just on it's 6 months anniversary and now has over 22,000 unsuspecting members. It continues to grow at a very steady rate. Just goes to show how easy it is to setup a site that looks so innocent and makes some great promises all at no charge. There is a very good psychological approach (which is one of the head bull frogs favourite topics they study and obviously very affectively employ) to suck the new members in.
#UPDATE - 12 September 2007: Had some information back from a second PTC site that runs "click contests" that chew up advertisers budgets, that this site is another site the bull frogs regularly visit. Waiting for more details.
#UPDATE - 13 September 2007: An "Instant Message" conversation with the owner of one of the PTC sites (while another weekly "click contest" was under way at the same time) reveals exactly how advertisers lose their advertising budgets by members clicking away to earn the prize money on offer (.50cents). Research will continue to see if they are licensed to run competitions of such, according to American Games a Competitions laws.
#UPDATE - 17 September 2007: Well, the frogs continue to theave and click away on advertisers ads. Some PTC sites are making changes to timers knowing they are doing the wrong thing and are trying to clean up their act, but it is giving the good guys a chance to collect more information about their despicable practices. We will continue to investigate until the authorities have collected enough to move in and put a stop to it all.
#UPDATE - 30 September 2007: There has certainly been a hornets nest sturred up, after I asked a question on how these people consider what they are doing is honest. Well, it was on for young and old as they all have a go at trying to justify that they are not involved in any wrong doings. They firmly believe that earning their free money and keeping hidden from unsuspecting new entrants that what they should do to make their free money is ethical and is widely accepted and all part of the norm. Don't worry about the associated costs these poor people are faced with to make their free money and not forgetting the budgets they continue to drain off advertisers budgets. Guys, advertisers pay to advertise to consumers not to money makers. But, hey you can't put brains in a statue, can you?
The investigations will continue to try and uncover other affiliated scamsters associated with this site before conclusion and handing over to the appropriate authorities.
